A serial founder's journey towards the light | Shreya Mishra @ SolarSquare
Every few decades, building a large multi-generational business is possible thanks to a combination of technological, macroeconomic, and social factors.
For example – In the 1990s, it was possible to build a large business around invertors and generators thanks to a combination of unreliable supply of electricity and the growing demand for electricity due to the increasing affordability of appliances like TVs, Fridges, coolers and more.
Right now, a similar opportunity exists in the space of household solar power plants. Solar panels are more affordable than ever, and there is a government push in the form of subsidies to encourage homeowners to switch to solar.
For a homeowner, the decision is a no-brainer. With government subsidies and easy instalment plans, they end up owning a solar power plant at the same cost as their regular electricity bills.
In this episode, Shreya Mishra helps us understand this amazing opportunity and how SolarSquare is leading the pack in this space. Shreya is full of practical advice and insights for founders, thanks to her rollercoaster experience as a serial entrepreneur.
She talks about her first venture, Flyrobe, and how she joined SolarSquare to build its retail side. She also sheds light on its go-to-market strategy, the challenges of scaling up quality, and discusses India's target to equip 1 crore households with solar panels in the next three years.
