Unlike business tycoons who first generate wealth and then engage in philanthropy, Smita and Ram chose the reverse route!
The couple started a non-profit initiative, Rang De to help rural artisans and farmers access affordable credit.
This initiative eventually evolved into Rang De, a corporation offering people the chance to invest in loans for those seeking to improve their livelihoods.
Rang De is now India’s first RBI-regulated social peer-to-peer lending platform providing a unique opportunity for individuals to make social investments.
