Priyanka Salot reveals the science of D2C brand-building | The Sleep Company
It all started with the quest for a good night's sleep.
Priyanka Salot was a senior marketing leader at P&G when made the bold decision to leave her corporate role and start The Sleep Company.
The motivation stemmed from a personal struggle—sleepless nights after becoming a mother—which soon evolved into a mission to help India sleep better.
Over the next 2 years, she dedicated herself to researching and developing the finest mattress.
Leveraging her experience in building legacy brands at P&G, Priyanka led The Sleep Company to become a category leader, securing over $50 million in funding along the way.
In our conversation, she emphasized that a strong brand must uniquely address an important consumer problem, differentiating itself from other available solutions.
Priyanka also discussed what many new-age brands are getting wrong, the importance of listening to consumers when crafting marketing strategies and navigating the digital landscape to reach consumers. She also spoke about the smart strategic decisions that enabled The Sleep Company's rapid growth.
